Press Release: MetLife Bangladesh paid Tk 1,384 crore in insurance claims during the first six months of 2026, the company has said.
The insurer said the amount, paid between January and June, includes insurance benefits as well as medical and death claims.
Chief Executive Officer Ala Ahmad said the volume of claims paid reflects the company's commitment to supporting customers and their families when they need financial assistance.
"The amount of claims settled in the first six months of the year demonstrates our commitment to standing by our customers and their families," he said in a statement.
Ala Ahmad said MetLife is continuing to make its claims settlement process faster, simpler and more transparent in an effort to strengthen customer confidence and build greater trust in Bangladesh's insurance sector.
The company said it settled Tk 2,895 crore in insurance claims throughout 2025, the highest amount paid by any life insurer in Bangladesh during the year. It also maintained a 98% claims settlement rate, according to the statement.
MetLife said customers can submit claims online through its digital claims platform, with eligible claims typically paid within three to five working days after the required documents are received.
The insurer said the digital process has helped reduce settlement times while making the claims process easier and more convenient for customers.
MetLife Bangladesh currently provides insurance services to around one million individual customers and more than 900 corporate clients across the country.
