IDRA announces recruitment of accounting consultant on two-year contract

Staff Correspondent: The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Bangladesh’s insurance sector regulator, has announced the recruitment of a full-time accounting consultant on a two-year contractual basis, with scope for renewal. The initiative emphasises the authority’s focus on strengthening economic management, enhancing internal oversight and accelerating the transition toward digital accounting systems.

IDRA has invited applications from qualified Bangladeshi nationals, setting 29 December 2025 as the deadline for submission. The selected consultant will be entrusted with a key role in safeguarding the authority’s financial integrity, acting as its internal auditor while also preparing annual economic statements and bank reconciliation reports. Addressing audit objections and ensuring compliance with relevant financial standards will be among the key responsibilities, alongside advising the authorities concerned on accounting and audit-related matters.

Beyond routine economic oversight, the position is designed to support institutional capacity building. The consultant will be expected to train staff working in the accounts wing and take a leading role in implementing a digital accounting framework, reflecting IDRA’s broader push for transparency, efficiency and modern governance practices.

The authorities concerned are seeking an experienced professional with a minimum second-class Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from a recognised university, while candidates who have completed the Chartered Accountancy course will be given preference. Applicants must be at least 40 years old and possess no fewer than 10 years of relevant professional experience. Remuneration will be determined through discussion and run by contractual terms. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
