Aditya Birla Health Insurance’s Biometric Programme Delivers Measurable Health Gains

Insurance News Desk: A large-scale study by Aditya Birla Health Insurance has shown that regular biometric tracking helped most of its policyholders maintain or improve their health over two years.
The insurer examined anonymised data from 2.1 million adult customers between December 2023 and December 2025. The research paper, Unlocking Health Trajectories: Real-World Biometric Trends from Insured Indian Populations, found that 87% of those monitored kept or bettered their overall health status. Around 520,000 participants supplied at least two sets of readings for blood pressure, blood sugar measured by HbA1c, body mass index and cholesterol.
Nearly 62% of the tracked group recorded measurable improvements within 12 months. Among high-risk individuals, 37% moved into medium- or low-risk categories over the same period. Looking at specific conditions, diabetes control improved for 33% of policyholders, BMI and obesity indicators for 34%, blood pressure for 32% and cholesterol levels for 17%.
Women over the age of 35 posted the strongest gains in biometric control. Men older than 45 carried the heaviest burden of uncontrolled hypertension. When the results were set against national figures from the National Family Health Survey, the monitored policyholders performed better: diabetes control reached 33% compared with 15% nationally, obesity improvement stood at 34% against 24%, and hypertension control at 32% versus 24%.
The findings suggest that consistent monitoring linked to health insurance can support better outcomes than those seen in the wider population. Aditya Birla Health Insurance continues to expand the biometric programme as part of its focus on preventive care.
