Sonali Life Insurance achieves major milestone in claim payment and premium growth

Staff Correspondent: Sonali Life Insurance Company Limited has reinforced its position as a leading life insurer in Bangladesh by paying out Tk 260 crore in insurance claims so far this year, reflecting its commitment to timely service and customers’ trust. In 2024, the company disbursed Tk 361 crore in claims, underlining a consistent focus on policyholders’ satisfaction.

Alongside robust claim settlement, Sonali Life has recorded a total premium income of Tk 567 crore this year. The company expects its annual premium income to exceed Tk 1,000 crore, surpassing the previous year’s Tk 800 crore. This figure highlights the steady growth of the company and its strong market presence.

The achievement was highlighted during the target achievers conference, held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Thursday (25 Sept) in Dhaka. The day-long event drew over 2,000 of the company’s top-performing insurance representatives, celebrating their effort and contribution to Sonali Life’s growth.

Director Sheikh Mohammad Daniel stressed that Sonali Life does not pursue premium growth through unhealthy competition. Instead, the company prioritises trust, ensuring that claims are settled within a week of policy maturity. “Our goal is not only to achieve premium target but to uphold policyholders’ confidence and satisfaction,” he added.

The company’s decade-long performance demonstrate outstanding growth, with premium income rising from Tk 20.4 crore in 2015 to Tk 800 crore in 2024. Sheikh Mohammad Daniel underscored that even in challenging economic conditions; Sonali Life has maintained robust performance by adhering to ethical business practices and focusing on customer-centric strategies.
