Bangladesh insurance sector to celebrate youth festival with customer service initiatives

Staff Correspondent: The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) has announced that Bangladesh’s insurance sector will observe a Customer Service Fortnight as part of the government’s celebration of the ‘Festival of Youth 2025’, running from mid-October to the end of the month. The initiative aims to engage youths, raise awareness about insurance and highlight its role in ensuring economic security and future protection.

Under the directive, life and non-life insurance companies are encouraged to execute programmes that inspire youths’ participation in insurance activities, underlining the significance of safeguarding their life and assets while making financial resilience. The initiative seeks to improve an understanding of insurance as a practical means for long-term economic planning, empowering youths to take proactive steps in securing their future.

A main focus of the observance is innovation in youth-oriented insurance products. Companies are urged to develop creative insurance solutions tailored to the need and aspiration of youths, reflecting the progressive spirit of the nation. By linking youth celebration with practical economic means, IDRA aims to make insurance more accessible, relevant and engaging, nurturing trust, awareness and active involvement among the next generation and reinforcing the government’s vision of inclusive national development.
