BIPD’s first participatory training opens new horizon in non-life insurance skill development

Press release: The Bangladesh Institute for Professional Development (BIPD) has launched its first-ever participatory certified training programme titled ‘Basic Insurance Course for Marketing Force,’ marking a milestone in advancing the professional competency of non-life insurance personnel in Bangladesh.

The two-phase course held on October 11 and 18, 2025, concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, celebrating participants who successfully completed the intensive, skill-based sessions.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Mohammad Sahadet Hossain, Chairman of BIPD and Prime Insurance Company Limited, a distinguished academic and researcher, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Hossain underscored the importance of continuous professional education in strengthening the country’s growing insurance sector.

Abdul Hamid, FCA, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Insurance Company Limited, delivered the welcome remarks, highlighting the collaborative vision of Prime Insurance and BIPD in promoting industry-oriented training to empower the workforce.

Throughout the sessions, participants received in-depth lectures and interactive guidance from leading industry experts including Kazi Md. Mortuza Ali, ACII, Director General of BIPD; Sujit Kumar Bhowmik, Additional Managing Director of Prime Insurance; S M Shafi Ullah, Additional Managing Director (Underwriting); A K M Ehsanul Haque, FCII, Member of BIPD Academic Council; and Yasin A Khan, ACII, General Manager of K.M. Dastur & Co.

Around 50 marketing and senior officials from Prime Insurance participated in the course. They engaged in a series of participatory sessions designed to enhance both theoretical understanding and practical expertise in non-life insurance operations.
