Guardian Life and BRAC University host seminar to raise insurance awareness among youths

Press release: As part of the government’s ‘Grahok Sheba Pakkho 2025’ initiative, Guardian Life Insurance Limited and BRAC University, in collaboration with the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), have jointly organised a seminar titled ‘Conventional insurance plans for the youths’ at BRAC University to raise insurance awareness among students.

In the programme, IDRA Chairman Dr. M. Aslam Alam attended as the chief guest, while Md. Apel Mahmud, ACII (UK), Member (Life), IDRA; Acting CEO of Guardian Life Sheikh Rakibul Karim; and Dean of BRAC Business School Professor Dr. Mohammad Mujibul Haque, were present, among others.

IDRA Chairman Dr. M. Aslam Alam encouraged young people to explore career opportunities in the insurance sector, describing it as a fast-growing field with vast potential. He noted that an informed young generation may help build a financially secure and resilient society.

Acting CEO of Guardian Life Sheikh Rakibul Karim highlighted insurance as a vital safeguard against life’s uncertainty, while Professor Dr. Mohammad Mujibul Haque emphasised the importance of early financial literacy among students.

Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical insights into insurance policies, operations and benefits. Organisers expressed hope that the initiative would inspire greater youth engagement in the sector, supporting financial inclusion and sustainable industry growth.
