Sonali Life holds 12th AGM, approves 15% cash dividend

Press release: Sonali Life Insurance Company Limited held its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday at its head office in Malibagh, Dhaka, where shareholders approved a 15% cash dividend for the 2024 financial year- a decision that emphasises the company’s resilience and disciplined financial management at a time of heightened market uncertainty.
The AGM was chaired by Moinul Islam, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Maksuma Akhtar Banu, Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division (FID) under the Ministry of Finance, attended as an observer. Also present were independent director Jafar Iqbal (NDC), observer Md. Shah Alam, shareholder directors Fazlutun Nesa and Mostofa Kamrus Sobhan and Representative Director of Rupali Insurance Co. Ltd. Fouzia Kamrun Tania. Sponsor director Sheikh Md. Daniel also attended the meeting.
From the management team, Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md. Rafiqul Islam, Chief Financial Officer Md. Abdul Hannan, Chief Operating Officer Md. Manjur Morshed, Chief Information Officer Hasib Reza and Company Secretary Md. Abdur Rob, FCS were present along with other senior officials. The AGM proceedings were presented and conducted by Md. Abdur Rob, FCS.
In his remarks, Chairman Moinul Islam thanked shareholders for their continued confidence and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to sound governance, financial discipline and customer-focused sustainable growth. Shareholders expressed satisfaction with the company’s overall operation, saying the dividend decision as a positive signal for long-term investor confidence and policyholders’ trust.
