Shanta Life partners with Malaysia’s Sunway Medical Centre to expand global healthcare benefits

Staff Correspondent: Shanta Life Insurance PLC has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sunway Medical Centre, the reputed healthcare organisation from Malaysia, to provide improved access to medical treatment in the international arena for their policy holders.
The MOU has been signed at the Shanta Life head office, Dhaka recently, and this is yet another step towards enhancing global healthcare support for the insurance customers of Bangladesh.
According to the MoU, the customers of Shanta Life Insurance PLC will have access to better medical treatment facilities in Malaysia at concessionary prices and those who require to go abroad for treatment will get assistance from JG Healthcare Limited, the representative organization of Sunway Medical Centre in Bangladesh.
In the signing ceremony of the MoU, Shanta Life Insurance CEO Nafis A Ahmed, Sunway Medical Centre’s International Business Development Manager Kim Wei E and JG Healthcare Limited CEO Tareq Abdullah participated. This was also attended by senior representatives of all the three companies.
It has been pointed out that this is the first official collaboration between a Bangladesh-based life insurance company and Sunway Medical Centre, which is a landmark achievement, considering that the company’s service delivery, branding and vision have instilled confidence among people.
At the occasion, it was mentioned that modern life insurance does not only revolve around providing security anymore. It is now increasingly associated with wellness and enhanced quality of life. Based on the same principle, Shanta Life Insurance is looking to offer added value services to its clients.
The firm also stated that their services are aimed at going past the basics of insurance protection with regards to customer care. The firm prides itself on its good history of settling more than 99 percent of claims in five business days, which has led to building customer confidence.
The signing of the MoU would further improve the customer-oriented programs of Shanta Life Insurance and be a vital landmark in linking the policyholders with healthcare services of international standards, the representatives noted.
