Sonali Life Settles Tk 259 Crore in Claims in Seven Months as It Marks 13 Years

Staff Correspondent: Sonali Life Insurance PLC has settled Tk 259 crore in insurance claims during the first seven months of this year, as the company celebrated its 13th anniversary and reaffirmed its commitment to faster, technology-driven customer service.
The insurer said it is strengthening its automated claims management system to settle eligible claims within seven working days, aiming to improve efficiency and enhance customer experience.
The anniversary programme was held at the company's head office. Chairman Moinul Islam, Board Members Fazlutun Nesa, Mostafa Kamrus Sobhan, Fauzia Quamrun Tania and Sheikh Mohammad Daniel, Acting Chief Executive Officer Rafiqul Islam, senior executives, employees, and branch managers from across the country attended the event. The programme included cake cutting, recitation from the Holy Quran and special prayers.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Moinul Islam said Sonali Life has made a strong position in the country's life insurance industry over the past 13 years through customer trust, financial strength, good governance and technology-driven services.
He said the company would continue to strengthen transparency, speed up claim settlement, improve risk management and deliver international-standard customer service to further enhance policyholders' confidence.
Acting CEO Rafiqul Islam said the actual value of life insurance is realised when policyholders or their families receive claim payments quickly during difficult times.
"Ensuring fast, transparent and reliable claim settlement remains our highest priority," he said.
According to the company, Sonali Life paid Tk 405 crore in insurance claims in 2025. During the same year, total premium income reached Tk 865.94 crore, while renewal premium income stood at Tk 541.29 crore.
Based on its 2025 financial performance, the company ranked fifth among Bangladesh's 36 life insurance companies in terms of total premium income. It also ranked seventh in life fund and tenth in total investment.
The company further said that among Bangladesh's fourth-generation life insurers, it holds the leading position in total premium income, renewal premium income, life fund and investment.
Marking its 13th anniversary, Sonali Life said it would continue expanding technology-driven services, accelerating claim settlements and strengthening transparency and answerability to build greater customer trust.
