News Desk: HDI Global posted a 7% rise in net income to $249.6 million for the first half of 2026, up from $234.2 million a year earlier. Improved underwriting and stronger investment returns underpinned the gain for the corporate and specialty insurer.
The combined ratio tightened to 90.7% from 91.6%. Operating profit held steady at $325.6 million against $322.2 million in the prior period. Insurance revenue slipped slightly to $4.3 billion from $4.4 billion, reflecting currency movements and a cautious approach to underwriting.
The insurance service result advanced 8% to $397.4 million. Net insurance financial and investment income before currency effects climbed to $144.4 million from $84.6 million, helped by larger investment volumes and higher current interest earnings.
Chief executive Dr. Edgar Puls said the figures showed the benefits of disciplined underwriting and a solid portfolio. He expressed confidence in the outlook for the rest of the year while noting that the hurricane season could still influence final results.
