Sonali Life Settles Tk 383 Crore in Insurance Claims in 10 Months

Staff Correspondent: Sonali Life Insurance PLC settled insurance claims worth Tk 383.05 crore from January to October 2026. The company reported settling 49,184 claims during the period, with maturity claims accounting for the largest share of payments.

The figures come from the company's unaudited monthly claims settlement report for January to October 2026.

According to the report, Sonali Life paid Tk 292.73 crore against 23,277 maturity claims, accounting for more than 76 percent of the total amount settled.

During the same period, the company paid Tk 51.81 crore in survival benefits, which policyholders receive at specified times during their policy terms. It also paid Tk 29.57 crore in surrender values. The number of claims settled in these two categories stood at 17,898 and 6,834, respectively.

In addition, the company settled 511 death claims worth Tk 7.28 crore and 664 group insurance and other claims worth Tk 1.66 crore.

The company made its highest monthly claim payments in September, settling 5,383 claims worth Tk 49.81 crore.

In October, the company settled 4,617 claims worth Tk 40.54 crore. Of this amount, Tk 31.85 crore was paid against maturity claims.

In 2025, Sonali Life settled 55,300 insurance claims worth Tk 405.15 crore for the full year. The company paid Tk 380 crore in claims in 2024 and more than Tk 124 crore in 2023.

The report showed that the number and value of claims due or reported were equal to those settled in each month from January to October. However, it did not provide details on average claim settlement times or rejected claims.
